Pacific Hut Restaurants and Bakeshop sits quietly along 17 Ave SE in Calgary, serving up a taste of home for anyone craving authentic Filipino flavors. This is a full-service Filipino restaurant known for generous portions and a comforting, familiar atmosphere that echoes the traditional bahay kubo style—wooden accents and a cozy, inviting interior that makes it easy to settle in for a hearty meal.

The menu here is a practical shorthand for Filipino comfort food, with standout dishes like bulalo, the Supreme Breakfast Combo, lechon kawali, shrimp sinigang, and lumpiang gulay. These choices highlight the kind of straightforward, satisfying meals the restaurant has been serving since 2005, appealing to locals and visiting guests alike. Whether it’s a weekend breakfast or a leisurely dinner, Pacific Hut caters especially well to families and groups who appreciate rich, home-cooked flavors that don’t scrimp on portion size. One recent takeout experience mentioned how the bulalo portion was enough to feed multiple people, emphasizing the value alongside quality and speed.

Service tends to be warm and attentive without being rushed, a comforting balance that fits with the laid-back vibe. Even during closing hours, the staff make an effort to ensure everyone leaves satisfied and well cared for. This sense of hospitality pairs naturally with the restaurant’s family-friendly environment, making it a spot where conversations can linger over a shared plate of crispy spring rolls or a vibrant bowl of sinigang.

For those new to Filipino cuisine or looking for a reliable place to revisit, the restaurant’s atmosphere and menu offer a solid introduction or a familiar embrace. The best time to visit is whenever you’re ready to dive into something filling and flavorful without fuss—whether that means a leisurely breakfast to start the day or a casual dinner out with friends. The genuine taste and generous servings cultivate a relaxed dining experience anchored in local Filipino community and tradition right here in Calgary.

We ordered takeout bulalo last night. We didn’t expect for $26 we’d get this big of a portion. It’s good for 3-4 people already. The taste is authentic and well wrapped. Food was prepared in less than 10 minutes. Ambience of place feels bahay kubo style. Thank you for a good first time experience :)

As part of Filipino Restaurant Month, I was invited to try this restaurant! It was actually my first time trying something other than the veggie lumpia (spring rolls) and I was amazed at how much I enjoyed it . ???????????????? ???????? ????????????????????: ʟᴜᴍᴘɪᴀɴɢ ɢᴜʟᴀʏ: Can't ever go wrong with spring rolls! Filled with a variety of vegetables, these spring rolls are crispy, perfectly golden and delicious! ʜᴜʀɴᴏɴɢ ᴛᴀʜᴏɴɢ: Definitely the highlight for me! These delicious, cheesy, baked mussels are amazing. Totally returning for an order (or two ) of these mussels! ɴɪʟᴀɢᴀɴɢ ʙᴀᴋᴀ: Unfortunately, the life of a foodie requires your camera to eat first , as such the soup was cold when I went to try it. I think I'd have enjoyed it when it was warm. ᴘᴀᴄɪꜰɪᴄ ʜᴜᴛ ʙᴇᴇꜰ ꜱᴘᴇᴄɪᴀʟ: This beef stew in a special tomato sauce was the perfect main. The beef was soft and perfectly seasoned and the light curry went really well with the rice and vegetables it was served with. Also totally loved that it was served on a "sizzling plate" ᴄʜɪᴄᴋᴇɴ ʙᴀᴄᴏʟᴏᴅ: I didn't personally try this, hit a friend did and loved it! ʜᴀʟᴏ ʜᴀʟᴏ: This dish looked so amazing and I was so sad that I couldn't eat it . My tummy was way too full, but I guess that just means I need to go back to have it LOL! ʙᴜᴋᴏ ᴘᴀɴᴅᴀɴ (ɴᴏᴛ ᴘɪᴄᴛᴜʀᴇᴅ): I loved this dessert! It was full of jello and young coconut in a pandan-infused cream. Another must order item for me! Overall, I really enjoyed Filipino cuisine and this won't be the last time I visit Pacific Hut Restaurant! Follow me on @WanderingInYYC for all things YYC!

Since Pacific Hut Restaurant first opened its doors back in 2005, it's been a beloved spot in Calgary's Filipino culinary scene. For nearly two decades now, they've been dishing out a delightful blend of Pacific Island flavors, winning over both locals and out-of-towners with their mouthwatering dishes and sweet treats. Today, Rey Allan and I decided to swing by after almost ten years, and boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The vibe was warmer, and we were stoked to find out about their new weekend buffet. Ral's the chef in the fam and we both love checking out different places to eat. We dug into their crispy pata—a Filipino fave—and even though it was mighty tasty, what really hit home was the care put into every bite. You can just tell these folks take serious pride in what they do. So if you're in Calgary and craving some legit Pacific Island flavors, you gotta give Pacific Hut a shot. You'll find 'em at 3223 17 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2A 0R1. -RMP DreamScribe Studios

Tonight I was craving for crispy pata and seafoods sinigang. I’m not feeling well so I asked my husband to pick up the order and it went so fast, from the moment I ordered to how quick they prepared the foods. Food was ready as soon as my husband gets in there. It was a pleasant interaction from the cashier to the kitchen staff, they were very accommodating, service is more than 5 star if I may and the food is beyond my expectations, Pata is still super crispy and the seafoods sinigang taste phenomenal. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and will keep coming back here, will try dining next time too. Kudos to the cashier and the cook, special mention to Jon who was very accommodating as per my husband. Thank u for the good foods and service.

We were visiting the Canadian Rockies and were determined to have Filipino food for one of our dinners as we thought given the huge Filipino population in Calgary, the food is bound to be authentic. We chose to go to Pacific Hut and ordered the Crispy Pata and Bulalo. When the food came, we were amazed at the serving size…it was HUGE! It was just me and my husband so we didn’t think we could finish the food served to us. Both dishes were so tasty…the crispy Pata was crunchy and moist; the Bulalo was loaded with vegetables, the soup was savory, the bone marrow was buttery and the meat was very tender. WE ATE EVERYTHING! Because the dishes were so good, we decided to order a halo halo which was also huge and yummy. The restaurant was clean and nicely setup. It was decorated with pictures of Philippine places, people and culture. The server was very nice and friendly. We had a great dinner experience.
